What is "early return to work"?

Providing support in the workplace to allow recovery from injury while at work.

Workplace rehabilitation is the process whereby an injured worker recovers from an injury while at work. It used to be accepted that when someone suffered an injury they should 'stay home and recover' before they return to work. This is no longer the preferred way of dealing with injuries. It is generally accepted now that people recover from injuries a lot faster when they are back in the workplace doing work that aids the recovery process.

There are lots of benefits to this approach, provided it is managed properly. ACC call this "early return to work".
